Twelfth-ranked Science City Jena (6-12) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked GiroLive-Ballers (11-6). The visitors from Osnabrueck managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-11 Science City Jena's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 76-74 at the end of the game.
