Leader Bakken delivered the nineteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Vaerlose (7-13) 61-53 in Aarhus. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vaerlose. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a quality performance of international swingman Chris Nielsen (192-85) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American-Belizean guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Senegalese power forward Pape Ba (207-80, college: Bethune-Cookman) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the former international power forward Niels Bjerregaard (204-70, college: Chaminade) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bakken maintains first position with 19-1 record. Newly promoted Vaerlose keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. Bakken will meet Horsens IC (#5) in the next round. Vaerlose will play against Amager BK in Kastrup and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
