Regular Season Round 31: Halychyna - Azovmash 85-83

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Azovmash (17-12) against twelfth ranked Halychyna (10-21) on Sunday night. Visiting Azovmash was edged by Halychyna in a tough game in Lviv 83-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Azovmash. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Azovmash won third quarter 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Halychyna won last quarter 21-20. Strangely Azovmash outrebounded Halychyna 37-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Alan Wiggins (206-84, college: USF) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Pavel Revzin (194-83) accounted for 8 points and 6 assists for the winning side. American power forward Demetrius Alexander (204-75, college: Alabama) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 16 points and 7 assists respectively for Azovmash in the defeat. Five Azovmash players scored in double figures. Halychyna moved-up to eleventh place. Defending champion Azovmash dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
