An interesting game took place in Dniprodzerzhynsk where 6th ranked Kryvbasbasket (16-14) was upset on the court of ninth ranked DniproAzot (12-17) 92-68 on Monday. DniproAzot made 30-of-34 free shots (88.2 percent) during the game, while Kryvbasbasket only scored nine points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for DniproAzot especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Kryvbasbasket was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) who helped to win the game recording 16 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (189-80) who added 21 points during the contest. International power forward Igor Zaitsev (211-89) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Igor Krivtsov (202-86) scored 14 points. Four Kryvbasbasket players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. DniproAzot maintains ninth position with 12-17 record. Kryvbasbasket lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. DniproAzot will face higher ranked Ferro-ZNTU (#7) in Zaporozhye in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kryvbasbasket will play at home against the league's second-placed Budivelnyk and will have a slim chance for a victory.
