Important game to mention about took place in Sofia. Fourth ranked Levski (9-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best Lukoil (10-5) 64-62 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Lukoil. Lukoil was ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Levski, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lukoil to just 6 points in third quarter. Levski forced 24 Lukoil turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international guard Diana Naydenova (171-73, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 assists and 5 steals. Forward Radoslava Bachvarova (183-87, college: Va Commonwealth) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Tamara Bowie (183-81, college: Ball St.) with 24 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward DeTrina White (180-80, college: LSU, agency: Merit Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Newly promoted Levski maintains fourth place with 9-6 record. Defending champion Lukoil keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Dunav. Levski will play against league's second-placed Dunav in Ruse in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lukoil will play at home against Beroe 07 in Stara Zagora and hopes to get back on the winning track.
