Regular Season Round 31: Radviliskis - Zalgiris-Sabonio 76-67

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (17-12) lost on the road to third ranked Radviliskis (20-9) 76-67 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zalgiris-Sabonio won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for forward Audrius Mineikis (202-77) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Nigerian forward Azeez Oladimeji (204-89) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Radviliskis players scored in double figures. Forward Zygimantas Skucas (200-92) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Tauras Jogela (200-93) added 12 points respectively for Zalgiris-Sabonio in the defeat. Zalgiris-Sabonio's coach Priit Vene tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Radviliskis moved-up to second place, which they share with Meresta. Zalgiris-Sabonio lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Nafta Universitetas and LKKA-Atletas. Radviliskis will meet Nafta Universitetas (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zalgiris-Sabonio will play against Mazeikiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
