Leader SG Schwelmer Baskets delivered the fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets (8-11) 84-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Spot Up Medien Baskets. The game was mostly controlled by SG Schwelmer Baskets. Spot Up Medien Baskets managed to win third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for naturalized American forward Kristofer Speier (206-81, college: Lewis-Clark) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Julius Ducker (205-84) helped adding 11 points and 12 rebounds. Five SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Frank Theis (200-82) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Nigerian guard Nnamdi Nnadili (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SG Schwelmer Baskets (15-4) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted SG Schwelmer Baskets maintains first place in Group North. Loser Spot Up Medien Baskets dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will meet at home RSV Eintracht (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Spot Up Medien Baskets will play against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#11) and hope to secure a win.
