There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked ETB Wohnbau (5-14) beat on the road higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (11-8) 90-84 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-14. But Kirchheim Knights won third quarter 27-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ETB Wohnbau made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Steven Esterkamp (198-81, college: Ohio, agency: Limelight Hoops) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. Forward Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Marcus Smallwood (198-82, college: N.Illinois, agency: Court Side) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Ryan De Michael (205-77, college: Tennessee-Martin) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Five ETB Wohnbau and four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Freiburg. Kirchheim Knights lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
