Regular Season Round 33: DniproAzot - Ferro-ZNTU 78-83

There was no surprise in Dniprodzerzhynsk where 9th ranked DniproAzot (12-18) was defeated by seventh ranked Ferro-ZNTU (16-15) 83-78 on Monday. DniproAzot was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 29-17 charge of Ferro-ZNTU, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Keddric Mays (183-84, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Ricky Harris (188-87, college: Massachusetts) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian power forward Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklahoma Baptist, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (189-80) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Ferro-ZNTU and five DniproAzot players scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to sixth place. Loser DniproAzot dropped to the tenth position with 18 games lost. Ferro-ZNTU will have a break next round. DniproAzot will play at home against the league's leader Budivelnyk (#1) in Kyiv.
