Regular Season Round 33: Mykolaiv - Halychyna 93-72

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Mykolaiv (15-15) smashed at home 11th ranked Halychyna (11-22) 93-72 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Mykolaiv. Halychyna was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mykolaiv dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Halychyna's 30. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mykolaiv made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin Love (188-78, college: St.Louis) who scored 17 points. Power forward Ivan Gilyevych (205-82) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alan Wiggins (206-84, college: USF) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Nick Williams (192-83, college: Cincinnati, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mykolaiv moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kryvbasbasket. Loser Halychyna keeps the eleventh position with 22 games lost. Mykolaiv will face bottom-ranked BC Kyiv (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
