Regular Season Round 33: Kryvbasbasket - Budivelnyk 64-65

Seventh-ranked Kryvbasbasket (15-15) made lots of trouble for first ranked Budivelnyk (24-7) in Krivoy Rog on Wednesday. The visitors from Kyiv managed to secure only one-point victory 65-64. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kryvbasbasket won fourth quarter 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Lamayne Wilson (204-80, college: Troy) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard William Keys (188-77, college: N.Mexico St.) chipped in 5 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Budivelnyk's coach Josep Berrocal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Dmitry Korablev (198-77) who recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and international power forward Igor Zaitsev (211-89) added 17 points respectively. Budivelnyk maintains first place with 24-7 record. Kryvbasbasket at the other side keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Mykolaiv. Budivelnyk are looking forward to face DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kryvbasbasket will have a break next round.
