Regular Season Round 33: BC Odessa - Hoverla 73-68

We should mention about the upset which took place in Odessa, where 4th placed Hoverla (18-13) lost to tenth ranked BC Odessa (13-19) in a road game 68-73 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hoverla won fourth quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Nigerian power forward Ejike Ugboaja (204-85) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Andrew Washington (191-84, college: Delaware) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Washington is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Derrick Zimmerman (189-81, college: Mississippi St., agency: Pro One Sports) who recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 13 points respectively. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BC Odessa moved-up to ninth place. Loser Hoverla keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. BC Odessa will have a break next round. Hoverla will play on the road against Khimik (#12) in Yuzhny.
