Regular Season Round 34: Khimik - Hoverla 74-83

Very expected game when 12th ranked Khimik (10-22) lost to fourth ranked Hoverla (19-13) in Yuzhny 74-83 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Khimik won third quarter 26-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Khimik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Hoverla players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Alexander Kolchenko (198-88) replied with 15 points and Serbian guard Nemanja Protic (182-86) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Khimik. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hoverla maintains fourth position with 19-13 record. Khimik at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 22 games lost. Hoverla are looking forward to face Ferro-ZNTU (#7) in Zaporozhye in the next round. Khimik will play on the road against Kryvbasbasket (#8) in Krivoy Rog and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
