The most exciting game of round 21 in the LKL took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Aiscai Kaunas (6-12) to sixth ranked Techasas (9-8) 75-74 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. Techasas made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Aiscai Kaunas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Techasas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89) who recorded 24 points and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Techasas maintains sixth place with 9-8 record. Aiscai Kaunas at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Techasas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aiscai Kaunas will play again at home against Techasas (#6) in Panevezys and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
