Everything went according to plan in Bursa where first ranked Genc Banvit (14-3) beat 6th ranked Final Genclik (8-9) 79-69 on Saturday. Genc Banvit forced 21 Final Genclik turnovers. Final Genclik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Ufuk Gurgen (205-77) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Erolcan Cinko (188-90) chipped in 27 points. Costa Rican center Hernold Gardener (205-82, college: Lon Morris JC) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and forward Muratcan Esen (195-90) scored 26 points. Final Genclik's coach Ali Ozbay gave the chance to play for twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Genc Banvit have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A with 14-3 record. Loser Final Genclik dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Genc Banvit will face Orman Genc (#3) in Ankara in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Final Genclik will play on the road against Genc Telekom (#4) in Ankara.
