Regular Season Round 15: Ginasio - CAB Madeira 77-71

We should mention about the upset which took place in Figueira da Foz, where 6th ranked CAB (6-9) lost to ninth ranked Ginasio (7-8) in a road game 71-77. CAB was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 23-14 third quarter run of Ginasio. It was a good game for American power forward Jason Hartford (206-85) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Tomas Barroso (180-90) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Frederick Gentry (201-77, college: McNeese St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Nathan Menefee (182-85, college: Evergreen St.) added 20 points in the effort for CAB. Ginasio moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sampaense and Penafiel. CAB at the other side dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Ginasio will play against higher ranked Vitoria SC (#4) in Guimaraes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CAB will play at home against Ovarense (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
