An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Schwelm. First ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets faced 3rd ranked RSV Eintracht. Host SG Schwelmer Baskets (16-4) defeated guests from Stahnsdorf (13-7) 90-82. It looked good early as RSV Eintracht took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then SG Schwelmer Baskets had a 31-20 second period charge getting the lead and RSV Eintracht was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-90. SG Schwelmer Baskets shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Center Julius Ducker (205-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard David Bunts (189-79, college: Pacific) contributed with 22 points for the winners. SG Schwelmer Baskets' coach Raphael Wilder allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Tim Modersitzki (197-85) replied with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Kellen Williams (193-84, college: E.Washington) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for RSV Eintracht. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets and five RSV Eintracht players scored in double figures. SG Schwelmer Baskets have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted SG Schwelmer Baskets maintains first position in Group North with 16-4 record. RSV Eintracht lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RSV Eintracht will play against Hertener Loewen (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
