Important game to mention about took place in Brasov. Fourteenth ranked Politehnica Iasi (4-16) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Brasov (1-20) 77-75 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-17. But Brasov won second period 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard LeRoy Dawson (188-81, college: S.Nazarene, agency: Global Sports Plaza) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Bryan McCullough (198-83, college: NC-Asheville) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin center Zeljko Bubanja (210-73) with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Radu Paliciuc (198-88) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Politehnica Iasi maintains fourteenth place with 4-16 record. Brasov lost their tenth game in a row. They dropped to the bottomPolitehnica Iasi will face higher ranked Timisoara (#11) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brasov will play against Steaua Turabo (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
