Bottom-ranked Puntukas managed to get a eighth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Puntukas outleveled ninth-ranked Silute in Anyksciai 79-56. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 23-point difference proves that Puntukas was well-prepared to that game. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-56. Forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) notched 27 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Erikas Kaupaitis (202-84, college: USC Upstate) did not help to save the game for Silute. Guard Evaldas Jurkus (190-84) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Silute's coach Mindaugas Budzinauskas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Puntukas maintains fifteenth position with 8-24 record. Silute at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Erelita. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
