Regular Season Round 17: TED Kolejliler - Beykoz 120-50

There was no surprise in Ankara where 10th ranked Beykoz (4-13) was outplayed by first ranked Optimum TED (16-1) 120-50 on Saturday. Optimum TED dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Beykoz's 28. They outrebounded Beykoz 46-20 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Optimum TED looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Center Mehmet Nezih (206-80) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and power forward Ihsan Yalcin (200-82) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Optimum TED players scored in double figures. Osman Sarisoy (-88) responded with 16 points and guard Nasuhi Kaba (190-89) scored 10 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Optimum TED have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 16-1 record. Beykoz lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Optimum TED will face Akhisar Bld (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beykoz's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Istanbulspor.
