Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kaunas: VICI Kaunas (#1) and Laisve (#3). Laisve was smashed at home by 31 points 58-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. VICI Kaunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Laisve's 24. VICI Kaunas players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Courtnay Pilypaitis (185-88, college: Vermont) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Kristina Vengryte (190-81) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five VICI Kaunas players scored in double figures. International forward Lina Aglinskaite (181-87) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Mante Kvederaviciute (180-90) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Laisve. Laisve's coach Andrius Kuliesius gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. VICI Kaunas (19-0) have an impressive 19-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 19 victories in a row. Laisve at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. VICI Kaunas will play against Utena (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Laisve's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas LKKA-Aistes.
