Regular Season Round 17: Kepez Bld - Hacettepe 72-69

The most exciting game of round 17 in the TB2L took place in Antalya. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Hacettepe Univ. (12-5) to second ranked Kepez Bld (13-4) 72-69 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hacettepe Univ.. Kepez Bld had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winners and swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) chipped in 17 points. American power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Caner Erdeniz (188-87) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hacettepe Univ. players scored in double figures. Hacettepe Univ.'s coach Alp Bayramoglu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kepez Bld have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group B with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Optimum TED. Hacettepe Univ. at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Kepez Bld are looking forward to face ITU Istanbul (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hacettepe Univ. will play against Gaziantep (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
