Rather expected game in Ponte de Sor where 11th ranked Alges (3-11) were defeated by eighth ranked Electrico FC (6-8) 70-63. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Alges won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Electrico FC forced 22 Alges turnovers. Forward Aylton Medeiros (194-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Jorge Afonso (192-79) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Electrico FC players scored in double figures. American forward Silvester Spicer (198-86, college: Rogers St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and Angolan forward Sergio Correia (197-85) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Alges. Alges' coach Flavio Nascimento rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Electrico FC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Povoa. Newly promoted Alges keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Electrico FC's next round opponent will be higher ranked Fisica (#3) in Torres Vedras and it may be quite challenging game. Alges will play on the road against Sangalhos (#4).
