Bottom-ranked Cuxhaven BasCats managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Hannover Tigers 94-87. Hannover Tigers were ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 18-14 charge of Cuxhaven BasCats, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-6. Hannover Tigers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford) supported him with 22 points and 6 assists. Cuxhaven BasCats' coach Vilmantas Matkevicius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by center David Arigbabu (203-75, college: Rhode Island, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Hannover Tigers. Canadian guard Stuart Turnbull (188-84) added 20 points for the hosts. Five Cuxhaven BasCats and four Hannover Tigers players scored in double figures. Cuxhaven BasCats (5-15) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with ETB Wohnbau and Freiburg. Hannover Tigers lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against higher ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (#13) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hannover Tigers will play against Webmoebel Baskets in Paderborn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
