Regular Season Round 21: AD Vagos - Lombos Quinta 54-49

Liga Feminina round 21 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Quinta (15-3) against third ranked AD Vagos (15-3) 54-49 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Quinta. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. AD Vagos dominated on the defensive end, holding Quinta to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a good game for Nigerian-American guard Chineze Nwagbo (183-82, college: Syracuse) who led her team to a victory with 8 points and 18 rebounds. Brazilian forward Lilian Lopes (184-79) contributed with 7 points for the winners. American forward Alison Mann (186-85, college: Bowling Green) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and international power forward Paula Muxiri (184-81, college: ODU) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Quinta. AD Vagos have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Quinta. Quinta will play next round against Olivais trying to make it back to the top of the standings. AD Vagos will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked CDTN in Torres Novas.
