No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Genc Telekom (12-6) beat 7th ranked Final Genclik (8-10) in Ankara 77-68 on Saturday. It was a good game for power forward Gokhan Karabiyik (205-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Serhat Gunes (197-86) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Genc Telekom players scored in double figures. Costa Rican center Hernold Gardener (205-82, college: Lon Morris JC) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and Baturay Yilmaz (-86) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Final Genclik. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Genc Telekom moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Usak and Orman Genc. Loser Final Genclik keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Genc Telekom's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena Orman Genc.
