There was a small surprise when tenth ranked SC Rist Wedel (8-13) beat at home 7th ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets (9-12) 83-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. SC Rist Wedel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. SC Rist Wedel forced 23 Spot Up Medien Baskets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for center Peter Huber-Saffer (208-80, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Mac-Davis Duah (186-76) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. Center Frank Theis (200-82) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and center Daniel Theis (205-92) added 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Spot Up Medien Baskets. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. SC Rist Wedel maintains tenth place in Group North with 8-13 record. Loser Spot Up Medien Baskets keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face league's leader SG Schwelmer Baskets on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
