Important game to mention about took place in Crailsheim. Sixth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (13-8) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Kirchheim Knights (12-9) 82-79 on Saturday evening. Kirchheim Knights were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a good game for American guard Kameron Gray (186-82, college: Oklahoma City) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 assists. His fellow American import forward Frank Young (196-84, college: W.Virginia) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Ingo Enskat allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Marcus Smallwood (198-82, college: N.Illinois, agency: Court Side) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and naturalized American power forward Ryan De Michael (205-77, college: Tennessee-Martin) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Crailsheim Merlins have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Saar-Pfalz Braves (#6) in Homburg in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play at home against BG Karlsruhe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
