There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked ETB Wohnbau (6-15) defeated on the road higher ranked BG Karlsruhe (10-11) 73-66 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. ETB Wohnbau forced 21 BG Karlsruhe turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who had a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. His fellow American import forward Steven Esterkamp (198-81, college: Ohio, agency: Limelight Hoops) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and American forward Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Rasmussen Services) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser BG Karlsruhe dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face league's leader Bayern Muenchen at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
