No shocking result in a game when second ranked NBC (16-5) beat on the road 11th ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (5-16) 86-74 on Saturday. It was a good game for naturalized Czech center Martin Ides (217-80, college: Davidson, agency: Rasmussen Services) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Ahmad Smith (194-84, college: St.Bonaventure) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. NBC's coach Derrick Taylor used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Blake Young (188-85, college: Kansas St.) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Brice Brooks (201-86, college: Sacred Heart) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for BV Villingen-Schwenningen. Five NBC and four BV Villingen-Schwenningen players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for NBC. They maintain second place in Group South with 16-5 record behind leader Schwelm, which they share with Leitershofen. Newly promoted BV Villingen-Schwenningen keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. NBC will face BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (#6) at home in the next round.
