We should mention about the upset which took place in Vilnius, where higher ranked Silute (13-20) lost to fourteenth ranked Akademija (10-24) in a road game 90-95 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Silute won third quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akademija dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 34. Silute was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Egidijus Mockevicius (204-92) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. chipped in 29 points. Akademija's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Evaldas Jurkus (190-84) who recorded 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and swingman Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) added 20 points and 17 rebounds respectively. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Akademija maintains fourteenth position with 10-24 record. Loser Silute dropped to the tenth place with 20 games lost. Akademija will have a break next round.
