Regular Season Round 35: Dnipro - Budivelnyk 49-68

Superleague top team - Budivelnyk (26-7) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Dnipro (17-16) in Dnepropetrovsk 68-49. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Dnipro managed to win second period 18-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dnipro to just 4 points in third quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Budivelnyk made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard William Keys (188-77, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) helped adding 14 points. Budivelnyk's coach Josep Berrocal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Denham Brown (198-83, college: Connecticut, agency: Edge Sports) responded with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Mario Austin (206-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Strategic Sports) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Budivelnyk have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-7 record. Dnipro at the other side keeps the fifth position with 16 games lost. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dnipro will play on the road against DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
