Regular Season Round 15: Electrico FC - Fisica 78-81

Seventh-ranked Electrico FC (6-9) made lots of trouble for third ranked Fisica (11-4) in Ponte de Sor on Saturday. The visitors from Torres Vedras managed to secure only three-point victory 81-78. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Electrico FC. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 47-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fisica forced 19 Electrico FC turnovers. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jason Underwood (206-84, college: Centenary) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Miguel Salvador (187-81) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Underwood is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Fisica players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Cape Verdean forward Denis Neves (197-78) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Aylton Medeiros (194-88) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Fisica moved-up to second place, which they share with Galitos FC. Electrico FC at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Fisica is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Seixal (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Electrico FC will play against Guifoes (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
