Very expected game when 5th ranked St.Polten (6-18) was defeated on the road by first ranked UBSC Graz (13-11) 90-83 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But St.Polten won third quarter 25-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when UBSC Graz won last quarter 27-21. Slovenian guard Dragan Miletic (195-82) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Slovenian swingman Samo Grum (194-79) chipped in 25 points during the contest. Four UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. International guard Thomas Schreiner (195-87) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Martin Speiser (202-83) scored 19 points. Despite that victory UBSC Graz went down to second position (Bundesliga) due to points difference. Loser St.Polten keeps the fifth place with 18 games lost. UBSC Graz will meet Gussing Knights (#4) on the road in the next round. St.Polten will play against Worthersee Piraten in Klagenfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
