Important game to mention about took place in Homburg. Seventh ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (12-8) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked USC Heidelberg (9-11) 78-75 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of USC Heidelberg. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 23-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Stephen Cramer (188-84, college: Hope (MI)) who scored 19 points. His fellow American import guard Jason Jamerson (188-86, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Oliver Komarek (210-86) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Bjorn Schoo (213-81, college: Northern St., agency: Court Side) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four USC Heidelberg players scored in double figures. Saar-Pfalz Braves moved-up to sixth place. Loser USC Heidelberg dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Saar-Pfalz Braves will face higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USC Heidelberg will play against Science City Jena (#16).
