Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Oberhausen and 9th ranked Leipzig Eagles had identical 6-12 record. But Leipzig Eagles were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Oberhausen 73-62 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Oberhausen. Leipzig Eagles managed to win fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oberhausen forced 19 Leipzig Eagles turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman Sarah Austmann (179-85) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 4 assists. American forward Desire Almind (182-82, college: Bucknell, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Oberhausen maintains eighth place with 7-12 record. Loser Leipzig Eagles keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Rhein MB. Oberhausen will meet at home league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leipzig Eagles will play against ChemCats Chemnitz (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
