Regular Season Round 22: Neptunas - Naglis Palangos 78-74

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Naglis-Adakris (6-10) lost to eleventh ranked Neptunas (6-10) in Klaipeda 74-78 on Friday. Naglis-Adakris was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 22-13 charge of Neptunas, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The former international forward Valdas Vasylius (203-83, college: ODU) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Martynas Mazeika (190-85, agency: Limelight Hoops) supported him with 17 points. Neptunas' coach Rytas Vaisvila allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Chris Lowe (183-87, college: Massachusetts) did not help to save the game for Naglis-Adakris. His fellow American import forward Gerald Inman (206-87, college: Rutgers) added 21 points for lost side. Neptunas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Naglis-Adakris. Neptunas will meet at home higher ranked Techasas (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Naglis-Adakris will play against Sakalai in Vilnius and hope to secure a win.
