LMKL top team - VICI Kaunas (20-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Utena (6-15) 94-57. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Utena. The game without a history. VICI Kaunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Utena to just 4 points in fourth quarter. VICI Kaunas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Utena's 28. VICI Kaunas forced 23 Utena turnovers. It was a great evening for international center Giedre Paugaite (192-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points. American center Amanda Kemezys (192-87, college: Saint Louis) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four VICI Kaunas players scored in double figures. Power forward Kristina Palaimaite (191-81, college: Liberty) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and guard Asta Daujadiene (176-73) scored 16 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. VICI Kaunas have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-0 record. Newly promoted Utena keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. VICI Kaunas will play against bottom-ranked Ruta Siauliai (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Utena will have a break next round.
