Important game to mention about took place in Figueira da Foz. Eleventh ranked Lusitania (5-12) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Ginasio (7-10) 80-78 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 28-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Naturalized American forward Rick Cardoso (201-85, college: Cal.St.-Stanislaus) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American power forward James Robert (203-86, college: Dowling) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Worth to mention Cardoso played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Five Lusitania players scored in double figures. American guard Austin Swift (196-89, college: Cal Poly Pomona) responded with 25 points and the former international guard Joao Reveles (187-80) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Lusitania moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Illiabum. Loser Ginasio dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Lusitania will face higher ranked Ovarense (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
