The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (17-5) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked SC Rist Wedel (9-13) in triple-overtime 126-122. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of SG Schwelmer Baskets. SG Schwelmer Baskets were tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in triple-overtime 28-32s. SC Rist Wedel dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to SG Schwelmer Baskets' 42. SC Rist Wedel forced 19 SG Schwelmer Baskets turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by SG Schwelmer Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of center Peter Huber-Saffer (208-80, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. American forward David Gomez (201-85, college: Tulane) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jason Holmes (191-86, college: Le Moyne) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard David Bunts (189-79, college: Pacific) added 28 points in the effort for SG Schwelmer Baskets. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to ninth place in Group North, which they share with ALBA Berlin II. Newly promoted SG Schwelmer Baskets still keep top position with five games lost.
