No shocking result in a game when third ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (15-7) beat at home 12th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (6-16) 77-73 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cuxhaven BasCats won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BV Chemnitz 99 won last quarter 24-22. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Cuxhaven BasCats only scored nine points from the stripe. It was a very good performance for American forward Terren Harbut (198-83, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Afghani guard Achmadschah Zazai (177-86) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. American guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford) replied with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Anthony Canty (183-91) added 13 points in the effort for Cuxhaven BasCats. Cuxhaven BasCats' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BV Chemnitz 99 maintains third position with 15-7 record having six points less than leader B.Muenchen. Loser Cuxhaven BasCats dropped to the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. BV Chemnitz 99 will face Webmoebel Baskets (#8) in Paderborn in the next round where they are favorite. Cuxhaven BasCats will play at home against the league's second-placed s Oliver Baskets (#2) in Wuerzburg.
