A very close game took place in Ankara between Erdemir and Turk Telekom. Twelfth ranked Erdemir (7-12) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Turk Telekom (8-11). Erdemir managed to escape with a 2-point win 86-84 on Saturday evening. Turk Telekom trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 26-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-86 at the end of the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Erdemir made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Mike Hall (203-84, college: George Washington, agency: SportsTalent) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Hakan Demirel (192-85, agency: 1x1 Sports) accounted for 20 points and 8 assists for the winning side. American guard Jerome Randle (178-87, college: California) came up with 21 points and 7 assists and the other American import power forward KZell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) added 11 points and 18 rebounds respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Erdemir moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Trabzonspor. Erdemir will meet at home higher ranked Banvit (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Turk Telekom will play against Karsiyaka (#6) and hope to secure a win.
