Regular Season Round 22: Perlas - Zalgiris 57-62

LKL top team - Zalgiris (17-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Perlas (6-11) in Vilnius 62-57. Perlas was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The former international forward Paulius Jankunas (205-84, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Tomas Delininkaitis (192-82, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) did not help to save the game for Perlas. Forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zalgiris have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-0 record. Loser Perlas dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Zalgiris will meet bottom-ranked Alytus Alita (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Perlas will have a break next round.
