Very important is a road loss of second ranked SC Rasta Vechta (16-6) against ninth ranked Bayer Giants (10-12) on Saturday night. Visiting SC Rasta Vechta was defeated by Bayer Giants in a tough game in Leverkusen 77-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SC Rasta Vechta. SC Rasta Vechta was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Bayer Giants made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American guard Josh Young (185-88, college: Drake) notched 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import center Justin Eller (203-87, college: Sacramento St.) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 8 assists and 5 steals by American guard Matthew Reid (185-84, college: Cameron) did not help to save the game for SC Rasta Vechta. Guard Daniel Krause (196-88) added 21 points for lost side. Bayer Giants have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in Group North, which they share with SU Medien.
