Regular Season Round 19: Vestel - Darussafaka 77-78

A very close game took place in Manisa (derby !!!) between Darussafaka and Vestel. Eighth ranked Darussafaka (9-10) got a very close victory on the road over much higher ranked Vestel (14-5). Darussafaka managed to escape with a 1-point win 78-77 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Enique Clemons fired 26 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Burak Selen (202-88) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Darussafaka moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Pertevniyal and Final Genclik. Loser Vestel keeps the second position with five games lost. Darussafaka will meet at home higher ranked Usak (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vestel will play against Istanbul B.B. and hope to secure a win.
