Regular Season Round 22: Juventus - Rudupis 86-71

The most important game in the last round took place in Utena between third ranked Rudupis (12-5) and fourth ranked Juventus (11-6) on Saturday night. Rudupis was defeated by Juventus on the road 71-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rudupis. The game was mostly controlled by Juventus. Rudupis managed to win third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Rudupis 41-25 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Marius Prekevicius (196-84, college: S.Florida, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra, agency: Players Group) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Juventus players scored in double figures. Juventus' coach Robertas Giedraitis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Adas Juskevicius (194-89) replied with 16 points and 4 steals and swingman Gediminas Orelikas (197-90) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rudupis. Juventus have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-6 record. Rudupis at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Juventus are looking forward to face league's second-placed Lietuvos Rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Rudupis will have a break next round.
