Regular Season Round 25: Bakken - Aalborg 84-78
Date: February 27, 2011
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Bakken (23-2) beat 9th ranked Aalborg (4-22) in Aarhus 84-78. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as Aalborg took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bakken had a 33-20 second period charge getting the lead and Aalborg was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-84. American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston, agency: KMG Sports Management) fired 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Belizean guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Marquis Hall (183-87, college: Lehigh) produced 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Barkley Falkner (203-86, college: Sam Houston St.) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Bakken keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Svendborg. Aalborg at the other side keeps the ninth place with 22 games lost. Bakken's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Amager BK (#10) in Kastrup and are hoping to win another game. Aalborg will play at home against Aabyhoj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
