There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Leipzig Eagles (6-14) were defeated on the road by eleventh ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (5-15) 67-56. American guard Brianne O'Rourke (171-87, college: Penn St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Finnish guard Henna Salomaa (175-89, college: Oakland) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American forward Candace Williams (183-88, college: New Hampshire) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Britta Hueske (176-85) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Leipzig Eagles. Four Leipzig Eagles players scored in double figures. Newly promoted ChemCats Chemnitz maintains eleventh position with 5-15 record. Leipzig Eagles at the other side keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. ChemCats Chemnitz's next round opponent will be higher ranked Heli Donau-Ries (#4) in Donauwoerth and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
