Regular Season Round 39: Anyksciu - Delikatesas 72-75

Important game to mention about took place in Anyksciai. Second ranked Delikatesas (13-23) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Puntukas (9-27) 75-72 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Puntukas won fourth quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Delikatesas players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for center Julius Jucikas (205-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Vytautas-Edvardas Pikalavicius (196-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) answered with 18 points and center Paulius Joneliunas (211-84, college: American) added 7 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Puntukas. Five Delikatesas and four Puntukas players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Delikatesas went down to fourth position due to points difference. Puntukas lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with 27 games lost. Delikatesas will play against Akademija (#5) in Vilnius in the next round. Puntukas will play on the road against Erelita-KTU in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
