Regular Season Round 23: Karlsruhe - Crailsheim 75-70

An interesting game took place in Karlsruhe where 4th placed Crailsheim Merlins (14-9) were upseton the court of ninth ranked BG Karlsruhe (11-12) 75-70 on Friday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Crailsheim Merlins. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. It was a great evening for forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Flavio Stuckemann (187-85) helped adding 16 points. American forward Reggie Fuller (198-86, college: Binghamton) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Kameron Gray (186-82, college: Oklahoma City) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Crailsheim Merlins' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BG Karlsruhe maintains ninth place with 11-12 record. Loser Crailsheim Merlins dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. BG Karlsruhe will face higher ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (#6) in Homburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Crailsheim Merlins will play at home against the league's leader Bayern Muenchen and will have a slim chance for a victory.
